Charley Hull is one of the most popular golfers on the planet, and not just in the women’s game.

LPGA Tour superstar Charley Hull has played a key role in making the women’s game so popular for the new generation of golf fans.

Her fearless approach to playing and the stylish attire she brings to the golf course has ensured that she is a real needle-mover in the game, through her box-office appeal.

Tiger Woods is someone who Hull admired during her early years.

And Hull recently credited Woods for the impact he had on the game in general.

Golf is now a sport that is highly in demand, and popularity levels have grown exponentially over the past 30 years.

Now Augusta National have an opportunity to make a huge impact on the professional game, just like Tiger Woods did when he burst onto the scene in the mid-1990s.

What Charley Hull said about Augusta National and The Masters

Augusta National is probably the most famous golf course in the world.

The majestic layout in the American state of Georgia hosts The Masters once every year in April and for most fans, it signals the start of the golfing season.

However, Augusta National is seemingly out of bounds right now for the likes of Hull, Nelly Korda and co, excuse the pun.

That’s a real shame because the LPGA Tour have some of the best, most exciting and most popular players in the world amongst their ranks at the moment.

Golf broadcaster Chantelle McCabe shared that playing at Augusta is a dream for the 29-year-old Englishwoman.

After Hull’s appearance on the Golf Channel, McCabe said: Charley Hull says Augusta National is at the top of her golf bucket list (and same for many other LPGA players…wild they haven’t been invited.) This would be a home run content capture.

Augusta National do allow women to join their club, but perhaps there is another step they can take to make what would be a truly seismic change in the game of golf.

Augusta National could make groundbreaking decision for golf

After Hull’s comments, Augusta have a real chance to take a gigantic stride and make a decision that would truly transcend the sport.

We have one Masters tournament every year right now but can you imagine having two! How good would that be?

Would you like to see a ‘Women’s Masters’ at Augusta National?

The twist is that one of them would be The Women’s Masters, held at Augusta National either in May or September.

A Masters tournament for female professional golfers would be absolutely huge for the women’s game in general.

It would draw huge revenue streams and ensure that the game appeals even more to the new generation of young ladies.

Augusta National have made big changes over the past 20 years or so, in order to become more compatible with the way that the world has evolved in general.

The most notable change they made was in 2012 when they began admitting female members.

Now the powers that be at Augusta have a chance to prove that they are prepared to take even more steps regarding equality by starting a Women’s Masters.

It would be incredibly exciting for the LPGA Tour stars but it would also be a huge win for Augusta National – surely a no-brainer all round.
