The Ryder Cup is now just over two weeks away, and Brandel Chamblee has been commenting on what he expects to happen at Bethpage Black.
Chamblee will be covering the Ryder Cup, and he has been diving deep into reasons why the United States haven’t performed to their full potential in the competition over the past three decades.
Chamblee said Europe’s recent dominance in the Ryder Cup is down to more than just luck and rather their unrivalled passion for playing in the competition.
However, we all know how hard winning a Ryder Cup away from home is.
The visiting team have only won once in the last nine editions of the Ryders Cup while the United States haven’t been victorious on the road since 1993!
Rory McIlroy has already said that Europe will win at Bethpage Black, but statements like that will only heap the pressure on the European players’ shoulders.
But how does Chamblee see things panning out at Bethpage Black later this month?
Brandel Chamblee responds to claim that Team Europe will dominate the Ryder Cup
Chamblee is well known for using stats and real in-depth data to back up his arguments.

However, this time it seems like he relied more on instinct.
It was put to the controversial golf analyst on social media platform X that the European team will dominate the Americans at Bethpage.
While Chamblee has spoken endlessly about the Europeans having a stronger team ethic than the United States, he dropped a subtle suggestion that the visitors may not have things all their own way.
He said: “There is no event in golf more compelling than the Ryder Cup and Bethpage will likely be the rowdiest of them all.“
Home advantage will be worth at least one point for the Americans, probably two. So if the Europeans are to win, let alone dominate, each and every player will need to be at their very best from the first tee shot on day one.
Every single European player’s away record at the Ryder Cup
Luke Donald doesn’t have the most experienced team at his disposal, but with Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy on board, there is more than enough knowledge of playing in away Ryder Cups in the European team room.
Here is how all 12 players on the European team have fared in away Ryder Cup matches:
| Player | Away Ryder Cups | Overall Record | Points won |
| Justin Rose | 3 (2008, 2012, 2016) | 8-6-0 | 8 |
| Rory McIlroy | 3 (2012, 2016, 2021) | 7-7-0 | 7 |
| Matthew Fitzpatrick | 2 (2016, 2021) | 0-5-0 | 0 |
| Jon Rahm | 1 (2021) | 3-1-1 | 3.5 |
| Tyrrell Hatton | 1 (2021) | 1-2-1 | 1.5 |
| Shane Lowry | 1 (2021) | 1-2-0 | 1 |
| Tommy Fleetwood | 1 (2021) | 0-1-2 | 1 |
| Viktor Hovland | 1 (2021) | 0-3-2 | 1 |
| Robert MacIntyre | 0 | – | – |
| Sepp Straka | 0 | – | – |
| Ludvig Aberg | 0 | – | – |
| Rasmus Højgaard | Rookie | – | – |
Aside from McIlroy, Rose and Jon Rahm, the European players haven’t had much success on American soil.
And the atmosphere at Bethpage will be so intense that it may be difficult for them to improve on those records.
Chamblee is 100 per cent right by highlighting how hostile the New York crowd will be towards the visiting team at the Ryder Cup later this month.
Anyone suggesting that Europe will dominate the Americans will surely be way off the mark.
