Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas have been some of the most prolific winners on the PGA Tour over the past decade.
However, Spieth and his good friend Thomas have endured real struggles over the past few years on the PGA Tour, aside from the latter’s win at the RBC Heritage in April of course.
However, Ben Griffin has highlighted just how difficult it is to remain at the top of the game for a prolonged period of time.
Both Thomas and Spieth are desperate to play at the Ryder Cup in September.
However, Thomas is far more likely to be at Bethpage Black than Spieth is.

Thomas is always pushing Spieth to perform better, and vice versa.
Griffin has now shared the unbelievable question that random people keep asking him about the two golfers.
Ben Griffin makes Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas admission
Griffin has been speaking on The No Laying Up Podcast about the current state of professional golf.
And attention quickly turned to how unforgiving the sport is at the very highest level of the game.
Griffin used Spieth and Thomas as examples of just how expectant certain fans can be.
He said: “It’s super unforgiving (professional golf). So many people, random people I meet at restaurants ask me, ‘whatever happened to Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth?’. I’m like, ‘what are you talking about, Justin Thomas has won this year and Jordan Spieth has been in the mix a bunch.
“A lot of people don’t realise just how thin the line is. It’s hard to play really high quality golf 24/7 and if you go a couple of months where your name is not mentioned as much people are like…

“It’s golf, it happens. It’s a weird sport.“
it’s similar to fame in a way really isn’t it? When certain people in the public eye have been out of the limelight for a lengthy period of time, they are quickly forgotten about.
However, that really shouldn’t apply to either Spieth or Thomas. Both players are box-office draws on their day, and they will be doing everything in their power to return to the summit of the game.
PGA Tour career records of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas
Spieth and Thomas, both 32, have terrific records on the PGA Tour.
Here is how their numbers stack up alongside one another.
| Results | Spieth | Thomas |
| Events played | 298 | 257 |
| Wins | 13 | 16 |
| Top-5s | 56 | 58 |
| Top-10s | 93 | 88 |
| Missed cuts | 57 | 47 |
It’s incredible to think that both players have been struggling so badly over the past few years, given their elite career records.
It will be fascinating to see whether Spieth and Thomas manage to rediscover their best form over the next few years, or if they just fade away into mediocrity.
I’m convinced it will be the former.
