Australian PGA Championship predictions

The Golfing Gazette experts have made their predictions for the winner of the first event of the DP World Tour season, the Australian PGA Championship.

Charlie Walker: It’s been a rollercoaster of a season for Joaquin Niemann, who won five times on LIV but still missed out on the title due to his inconsistency. However, I predict that this will be a week where the Chilean will be at his brilliant best.

He won LIV Golf Adelaide for his first victory of the 2025 season and finished T5 at the Australian Open at the end of 2024. I expect he will continue his good form down under with a win here at Royal Queensland.

James Shearman: David Puig has only finished outside the top 20 once since the PGA Championship in May. He arrives in Australia in fine form, having finished T16 at the Saudi International last week, and could soon seal his first DP World Tour victory.

Jordan Harris: Cam Davis has had a pretty tough year on the PGA Tour with just one top 10. But he finished tied for sixth here 12 months ago, so perhaps this may be a great opportunity for the Australian to turn his fortunes around again.

Peter Lynch: He just finished second to Rory McIlroy in the Race to Dubai rankings, so I think Marco Penge will have motivation and momentum to win this week.
