Min Woo Lee will compete in the first event of the 2026 DP World Tour season this week, the Australian PGA Championship.

He will be joined by fellow Australians Adam Scott, Marc Leishman, and Cameron Smith at the Royal Queensland Golf Club.

Lee will be looking to win the tournament for the second time, having lifted the trophy in Brisbane two years ago.

The 27-year-old has not been in good form lately, but he has made some changes to his game that could inspire a better performance.

Min Woo Lee makes swing change before 2026 DP World Tour season

Min Woo Lee is one of the biggest hitters on the PGA Tour, with an average driving distance of 313.9 yards this season.

Lee is also world-class around the greens and above average with the putter, but his iron play often holds him back.

He ranked 166th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach the green this year, losing 0.430 shots per round to the average player.

Which DP World Tour player is best placed to keep their PGA Tour card in 2026?

He explained before the Australian PGA Championship that he has recently made a change to his golf swing to improve his iron play.

“So, pretty much how I hit it long is, I use my ground forces really well, snap my head back, and get speed off that,” he told Australian Golf Digest. “But when I go into the approach [iron play], I don’t really want to do that.

“I want to be as accurate as I can; you see the best players in the world stack over their left side through impact, and my swing through impact, my left hip was going backwards and back-right, so then my hands were getting too far forward, and I was getting a lot of shaft lean.

“So now I’m trying to stack over onto my left side and get better with that, so then I can shallow the club properly.”

Min Woo Lee wants to lose weight before 2026

Min Woo Lee has not only made a technical change, but he has also undergone physical changes in the last few months.

Lee revealed that he will be trying to lose weight after putting on around seven or eight kilograms of muscle recently.

“Just being stronger, I’ve gained a lot of kilos. I’m feeling good,” he said. “The shirt has become a little tight, not just the top, but the bottom [shorts]. I did the bulk pretty good, but now I probably have to cut.”

Lee felt that becoming stronger would help with his swing changes. We will soon see whether his hard work has paid off when he tees it up on Thursday.
