Adam Scott enjoyed a strong end to the 2024 season, and the Aussie is now preparing for the Presidents Cup, which will be underway in just two weeks.

Scott carded an eye-catching nine-under 63 at the BMW Championship before finishing T4 in the Tour Championship at East Lake.

The 44-year-old has since sat down with Golf.com to discuss his incredible career to date. And the Aussie made an interesting claim about what tee shot makes him most nervous every single year.

When asked which shot makes him most nervous, Scott revealed that the opening tee shot on the first at Augusta National was particularly challenging.

“I think the most nervous I ever get is the first tee at the Masters every year on Thursday,” Scott revealed. “I think it’s just the build-up and anticipation. It’s been eight months or more since we’ve played a major championship. Of course, it’s one every pro wants to win.”

The Aussie went on to suggest an opening tee shot can be far more challenging than a putt to win a tournament.

Scott continued: “It may surprise some people, of course, you’re nervous with a putt to win a tournament but way more in control at that point than at the start of the day. You’ve dealt with your nerves all day and managed your way around the golf course. It’s much easier playing the last hole of a tournament than it is teeing off on the first.”

2024 PGA Tour season ended too soon for Adam Scott

After finishing second at the BMW Championship and inside the top five in Atlanta, Scott will be disappointed to see the regular PGA Tour season come to a close.

Scott’s form picked up at the Scottish Open, where he finished second before placing in the top ten at the Open Championship. Had another major championship been around the corner, Scott would’ve no doubt fancied his chances.

The former Masters champion will now have to wait until Augusta to land his second major championship title. Scott boasts the longest run of major appearances and is set to compete in all four championships next year after his impressive end to the season.
