Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship predictions
The Golfing Gazette experts have made their predictions for the winner of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in the Middle East this week.
James Shearman: Tyrrell Hatton won this event in 2021 and finished runner-up last season, so he clearly enjoys playing in Abu Dhabi. He was also in excellent form at the Ryder Cup and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Peter Lynch: The easy option – Rory McIlroy. He loves playing out here, and should be feeling nice and fresh and ready to get back to winning ways.
Charlie Walker: Tyrrell Hatton has the best record in the field around Yas Links and is a strong contender to win it all in 2025.
In fact, he’s always played well in the Middle East, and his style is well-suited to links courses. Hatton came second at this event in 2024, and I expect him to go one further this week.
