The 2024 Presidents Cup is fast approaching! The Golfing Gazette brings you the latest qualification standings for the United States and International Team.
The FedEx St Jude Championship just finished and now there is only one tournament left before the Presidents Cup squads are finalised: the BMW Championship.
The top six players in each standings will automatically qualify, while the captains – Jim Furyk (US) and Mike Weir (International) – will both pick six additional players.
The US have won the last nine editions of the competition but there have been a few close encounters, so they must not take their opposition lightly.
Here are the current qualification standings for the United States and International Team ahead of this week’s BMW Championship at Castle Pines.
United States Presidents Cup qualification
The United States will have the upper hand in terms of quality at this year’s Presidents Cup. The two best players in the world – Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele – will be representing the Stars and Stripes.
The US will also have an excellent blend of youth and experience on their side. The likes of Sahith Theegala and Akshay Bhatia could make their Presidents Cup debuts next month. Meanwhile, Patrick Cantlay (2), Tony Finau (2) and Schauffele (2) have all competed multiple times before.

International Team Presidents Cup qualification
The International Team also have players who have competed at several Presidents Cups throughout their career: Adam Scott (10), St Jude Championship winner Hideki Matsuyama (5) and Jason Day (4).
Likely debutant Min Woo Lee and emerging star Tom Kim will need to be at the top of their games to upset the United States at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.
