Bryson DeChambeau is well known for being the longest player in the game, by quite some distance as well.

It’s a scary thought that DeChambeau actually has another 30-40 yards in reserve if he needs it.

The 31-year-old American is one of the most popular players in the game, although that’s not to say that he doesn’t have his detractors as well.

What cannot be argued about is his precocious talent with a driver in his hand.

DeChambeau has been driving the ball longer and straighter than ever over the past few weeks.

Many fans and journalists are tipping the two-time US Open champion to win the PGA Championship in two week’s time.

Quail Hollow is set up perfectly for DeChambeau, what with his explosive power off the tee.

And now the LIV Golf star has shared some crucial advice on how to crush the ball off the tee.

Bryson DeChambeau explains how amateur golfers can achieve 200 mph ball speed

Whilst amateurs average just over 200 yards off the tee, DeChambeau firmly believes that anyone who wants to hit the ball longer is more than capable of doing so.

With a few tweaks, you, like DeChambeau, can start sending it well over 300 yards off the tee.

That said, it’s highly doubtful that everyone who watches this video will be able to start clocking 200 mph ball speeds, just in the interest of transparency!

DeChambeau said, You want to know how I gain distance? Well listen in, this is how you do it. You’re going to be over 200mph, like that (clicks fingers). Guys, I want you to understand, it’s not how quickly you swing it, it’s about how much force you put into the golf club. We want to produce more force into the handle, that’s how you produce power, you’re not going to swing quickly. You’re going to put force into the golf club. The biggest misconception about speed is you taking it back and trying to apply a lot of speed at the top, you’re going to throw the club out that way (towards trail foot), you don’t want that, because then you’ve got to pull the club this way (towards lead foot). You want to feel like it loads down into a place where then you can pull the club through the impact area. That is how you produce speed folks.

There you have it then. It’s as simple as loading up your power before unloading near the bottom of the arc, rather than trying to force it from the top.

DeChambeau has another secret weapon now aside from distance

We all know that the reigning US Open champions’s extraordinary distance off the tee is his main strength.

However, he seems to have added another string to his bow this season.

DeChambeau has now become an incredibly accurate driver of the golf ball as well, hitting around two out of every three fairways on average.

He also hit a remarkable 78.57% of the fairways during The Masters at Augusta National three weeks ago, and ended up in a tie for 15th in that category.

If DeChambeau maintains that kind of consistency with his driver this season, he will be a very hard man to beat in the majors.
