Tipping Scottie Scheffler to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week is hardly a bold prediction.

Scheffler heads into the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week as the world number one golfer, and he has been for 143 consecutive weeks now.

He made a big statement last week in Phoenix.

Scheffler finished in a tie for third at the WM Phoenix Open despite arguably not even having his ‘B’ game.

What makes the 29-year-old so great is that he is capable of contending, and indeed winning, when he’s nowhere near his best.

The man from Dallas, Texas, has won 20 PGA Tour events in his last 82 starts, including four major championships, and he now has 17 consecutive top-10 finishes to his name.

Even Tiger Woods didn’t come close to matching Scheffler’s top-10 streak on the PGA Tour.

It’s little wonder why Scheffler has drawn comparisons with Woods recently.

It really should not surprise anyone if Scheffler made it 21 PGA Tour wins this week at Pebble Beach.

Scheffler has already won this season.

He ran away with the American Express in La Quinta, California, and the fact that he won so early on in the season would have concerned his rivals.

The American then opened up with a round of two-over-par 73 at the WM Phoenix Open last week.

However, Scheffler bounced back with rounds of 65, 67 and 64 to finish the tournament just one shot adrift of Chris Gotterup and Hideki Matsuyama.

Now the 20-time PGA Tour winner will be looking to make it two wins from his first three starts of the season on the Monterey Peninsula this week.

His exceptional driving of the ball and his pinpoint accuracy and distance control with his irons mean that he should be perfectly suited to the Pebble Beach layout.

How many times do you think Scottie Scheffler will win in 2026?

However, he is still yet to win on the famous Californian links course throughout his career so far.

In spite of that, history tells us that Scheffler should change all that this week.

Scheffler’s last eight results on the PGA Tour have not only been incredibly impressive, but they’ve been wonderfully symmetrical as well.

Starting in July at the Open Championship, Scheffler has not been outside the top four in eight straight events.

His last eight results read: Win, T-3, Win, T-4, Win, T-4, Win, T-3.

The pattern is clear and obvious to see. The list of his recent results reads like a ‘guess the number’ brainteaser!

There are some people who believe Scheffler’s form over the past two years simply isn’t sustainable.

However, those who suggest that cannot be aware of the fact that we are witnessing greatness.

We haven’t seen the level of golf that Scheffler is consistently producing since Tiger Woods’ prime more than two decades ago.

If Scheffler does win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week, it will be what most people involved with the game expected to happen.

That’s not just because of his form over the past two years either. His recent results show us that he usually follows a top-5 finish with a victory.
