Bryson DeChambeau will be an absolute powerhouse for the United States Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black, if Keegan Bradley has the courage to unleash him.
DeChambeau is one of the biggest stars on the United States Ryder Cup team and Keegan Bradley didn’t even have to use him as a captain’s pick.
In fact, Bradley suggested that DeChambeau qualifying for the Ryder Cup from just eight events was ‘unheard of’.
Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, DeChambeau has been a leader amongst the US Ryder Cup team during the build-up to the showdown at Bethpage Black.
The 32-year-old could really come into his own next week up in New York State.

However, many members of the media are suggesting that he should be used scarcely by Bradley.
For instance, Brandel Chamblee predicted that DeChambeau may only play three Ryder Cup sessions in total, including the singles.
The thing is, there is no reason why he shouldn’t play every single session at Bethpage, and here’s why.
Bryson DeChambeau myth has been busted ahead of the Ryder Cup
There is a falsity commonly attributed to DeChambeau.
In fact, it has been said so many times now that people have actually begun to believe it.
The problem is, it’s simply not true, and if Bradley is as focused on the stats and data analysis like he says he is, he will be playing DeChambeau in every single session at the Ryder Cup.
In 2025, the Dallas native was the best driver of the golf ball in the world, and it wasn’t even close.

On average, DeChambeau gained roughly 0.8 shots per round more than the best driver on the PGA Tour – Scottie Scheffler.
Bethpage Black is set up perfectly for the two-time US Open champion, thanks to his enormous length of the tee.
| Player name | Strokes gained off the tee |
| Bryson DeChambeau | +1.63 |
| Jon Rahm | +1.06 |
| Joaquin Niemann | +0.95 |
| David Puig | +0.89 |
| Scottie Scheffler | +0.81 |
Those numbers show just how good DeChambeau has actually been off the tee this year, both on LIV Golf and during the four major championships.
There is this misconception that he is incredibly wayward with his driver but it’s just simply not true.
He ranked 14th in driving accuracy on LIV with a hugely impressive figure of 62.88% of all fairways hit.
That’s quite remarkable when he averaged just under 330 yards off the tee this season.
DeChambeau being a wayward driver is a complete myth and now that myth has been busted, Bradley surely has no choice but to play him in every session.
Why Bryson DeChambeau is the perfect Ryder Cup partner for Scottie Scheffler
Firstly, DeChambeau is a sensational golfer.
Are certain journalists and media outlets placing too much emphasis on who he can and can’t partner at Bethpage? I think so.
If Bradley really wants to take the game to the Europeans next week, he should pair the 32-year-old LIV Golf star with the world number one, Scheffler.

As mentioned earlier, DeChambeau has been the best driver of the golf ball on the planet this season, by quite some distance.
And who is the best iron player, by a long way? Mr Scheffler, of course.
The LIV golfer and the PGA Tour superstar would undoubtedly form a fearsome partnership, and we already know they gel well together; we have evidence of that.
DeChambeau and Scheffler combined to take 1.5 points from the two fourball matches they played together at the Ryder Cup in 2021 at Whistling Straits, and that set both of them up to win their Sunday singles as well.
The calls for the 32-year-old to only play three matches are bizarre. He’s not only the longest driver in the game but he’s actually very accurate as well.
Pairing DeChambeau up with Scheffler – the best iron player in the world – at the Ryder Cup should be an absolute no-brainer quite frankly.
