Tiger Woods has unfortunately been forced to lie low after undergoing surgery, with the legendary figure set to be sidelined for quite some time.

Dan Rapaport is devastated after Woods’s injury, with the latter having recently ruptured his Achilles tendon.

Rick Shiels thinks Woods is a ‘superhero’ for his achievements in the game, which includes 15 major championship wins.

Woods boasts 82 PGA Tour wins in total, but will not be able to add to that tally for the foreseeable future.

His voice and mere presence do, however, remain hugely respected in the golfing world, such have been his efforts on and off the course over the years.

Tiger Woods once named Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh as two best players he had faced

His previous exploits concerning the latter involve Woods picking the two best players he had ever played against, as per Tiger Woods Vids.

“I would have to say it’s either Phil [Mickelson] or Vijay [Singh],” he said in the 2021 video. “Those two have won a lot of tournaments and they were so hard to beat in different ways.

“Phil didn’t hit the ball as well as Vijay but his short game was off the charts. Vijay hit it better, put a lot of pressure on you, but his short game – his chipping was awesome but he didn’t putt as well as Phil did.

“Those guys kept putting themselves there and I loved it. I loved the challenge of it. Phil and I and Vijay went at it for the better part of 15 years and it’s been a lot of fun.”

Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh major championship wins

The trio have all gone down as golfing legends, with Mickelson currently looking for more success on LIV Golf.

He occupies 15th spot in the LIV Golf individual standings, having posted finishes of T23, 3 and T19 so far.

Mickelson did, of course, have a famous and ongoing rivalry with Woods during their time on the PGA Tour, which certainly got feisty on more than one occasion.

But there has also undoubtedly been a mutual respect, while Singh has also garnered plenty of respect for his career achievements.
