The PGA Tour heads north of the border this week as Hamilton Golf and Country Club gets set to host the Canadian Open.
Tommy Fleetwood came within touching distance of his first PGA Tour title in 2023 after being edged out by Nick Taylor on the fourth playoff hole.
Tyrrell Hatton – now with LIV Golf – finished third alongside Aaron Rai and C.T. Pan.
Another strong field has gathered ahead of Thursday’s first tee – and here, The Golfing Gazette has looked at three players who stand a good chance of landing their first win of 2024.

Sahith Theegala
It feels like it’s a matter of when and not if Sahith Theegala lands his second PGA Tour win.
Now ranked number 12 in the world, the American has five top-ten finishes in 2024 and has finished runner-up twice, coming at The Sentry and the RBC Heritage.
Furthermore, Theegala placed T12 at the PGA Championship and was firmly in contention at one point.
With a flexible game and the ability to shot shape, he could thrive at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
Alex Noren
Alex Noren has also been highly consistent during the 2024 season, having made 12/12 cuts so far.
Furthermore, the 41-year-old has finished in the top 25 nine times and came third at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
It’s 17 straight cuts and counting for Noren – and it wouldn’t be a surprise to find him in contention this week.
For Noren, it’s now about properly challenging the leaderboard.
Tommy Fleetwood
Arguably the best active golfer yet to win on the PGA Tour, Fleetwood will be looking to avenge his 2023 Canadian Open heartache.
Finishing on 17-under should have been enough for the Englishman to finally break his duck.
The signs are good so far this season. Fleetwood has three top-10 finishes to his name and came T3 at The Masters.
Sooner or later, he will land his first PGA Tour win; Fleetwood is too talented to go winless on American soil.
