The 113th RBC Canadian Open gets underway at Hamilton Golf and Country Club on Thursday – and there’s a host of natives looking to land the prestigious national title.
Of course, PGA Tour stars, such as Rory McIlroy, Sahith Theegala and Tommy Fleetwood, will fancy their chances north of the border.
But, after Nick Taylor dramatically took the 2023 title, several Canadian players will be looking to compete this week.
And here, The Golfing Gazette has taken a look at three Canadian players who could seal a memorable victory.

Nick Taylor
Taylor etched his name into Canadian sports history in 2023 and is the highest-ranked Canadian at present.
After sealing a dramatic playoff win over Fleetwood last year, Taylor will once again lead the hometown charge for the RBC Canadian Open.
Recent performances haven’t been great, having missed the cut at the PGA Championship and coming T43 at the Wells Fargo.
But, with a win in 2024 already on his resume – coming at the Waste Management – it would take a brave man to write Taylor off.
Adam Hadwin
Probably Canada’s most consistent player at present, Adam Hadwin, has four top 10s in 2024.
Yet, recently, the 36-year-old’s game hasn’t been at its sharpest, having finished T60 at the PGA Championship and T52 at the Wells Fargo on eight over.
One positive is that Hadwin has history at the Canadian Open after pushing Rory McIlroy all the way in 2019.
Indeed, one to watch for the partisan home crowd.
Taylor Pendrith
Canada’s red-hot player heading into this week’s event, Taylor Pendrith, will be looking to land his second victory in 2024 after his win at The CJ CUP Bryon Nelson.
Having placed T11 twice before his PGA Tour victory, there were signs Pendrith’s form was trending the right way.
He followed up his victory with an impressive T10 at a difficult Quail Hollow before missing the cut at the PGA Championship.
However, having tasted victory recently, Pendrith is arguably Canada’s best shot this week.
