Scottie Scheffler had another sensational season on the PGA Tour in 2025 and with six wins in the bag, it’s worth noting what Tiger Woods said about the world number one just over a year ago.
Scheffler continued where he left off in 2024 by being a dominant force once more on the PGA Tour in ’25.
The world’s best player won six times, including two majors in the form of the PGA and The Open, and heading into 2026, he’s now just a US Open away from completing the career grand slam before he even gets into his 30s.

As we all know, Scheffler is a brilliant ball striker and his iron play is outstanding on a consistent basis.
Nevertheless, golf is about getting the ball in the hole and in a bad turn of events for everyone else on TOUR, Scheffler has improved his putting immensely.
Indeed, when we look back to 2024, that is exactly what Tiger Woods pointed out when discussing Scheffler’s brilliance.

How Tiger Woods predicted Scottie Scheffler’s brilliant 2025
Winning six times and two of them being majors in a single season is seriously impressive stuff.
2025 has somehow seen Scheffler go to another level and it has, in part, been down to how good he’s got with the putter.
And according to Woods, it’s no fluke that Scheffler has won so often.
“For Scottie, I think that his iconic foot movement belies what the club is actually doing through the golf ball. How stable it is, how solid it is. He hits it and if you stand back and watch the ball flight, there’s something so different about it. And he works it both ways, it goes both ways,” Woods said back in the middle of 2024.
“It’s just a matter of if he putts decent, he’ll win. If he putts great he blows away fields. If he putts badly, he contends, so he’s just that good a ball striker he really is.”
Scottie Scheffler’s putting stats in 2025
Improving your putting is something every golfer in the world can do, at any level.
The problem for the PGA Tour’s field is that Scottie Scheffler has improved so quickly and got so good with the flatstick, that it feels almost like a cheat code.
Scheffler was ranked 162nd for strokes gained putting just two years ago. Fast forward to 2025 and Scheffler has propelled himself to 20th in that very same category.
Couple that with the fact he is top 25 in all other putting metrics barring average distance of putts made, and it tells a clear story.
| Scottie Scheffler putting in 2025 | Result |
| SG Putting | 20th |
| 3-putt avoidance | 22nd |
| One-putt percentage | 8th |
| Putts per round | 8th |
| Total Putting | 22nd |
Going into 2026, it will be interesting to see if Scheffler maintains this level or in a more worrying trend for everyone else, if he improves it further.
