Scottie Scheffler loves breaking a record in golf and outdoing everyone else and looking back at his 2024 season, he’s also top of the pops when it comes to winning margins over the season.

The PGA Tour is so competitive these days that winning by more than a single shot is seen as a massive win.

With Scheffler going into the record books again at this week’s Hero Challenge in the Bahamas, it’s getting to the point where he’s looking almost impossible to beat.

Indeed, Scheffler broke five more records in 2024 as he continued to cement himself as one of the very best the game has ever seen.

And quite remarkably, when it comes to winning margins, Scheffler is also the top man.

Highest winning margins on the PGA Tour in 2024

After Scheffler won by six shots this weekend at the Hero, ahead of Tom Kim, it capped his highest winning margin of the season to finish in style.

However, Scheffler has also dominated in other tournaments and in the 19 PGA Tour events he played in during 2024, only two players actually came close to him.

Interestingly, Rory McIlroy matched the five shot lead by beating Xander Schauffele at the Wells Fargo back in the summer but Scheffler didn’t play in that event due to the birth of his son.

Can anyone stop Scottie Scheffler in 2025?

Well, that is the big question on everyone’s lips after seeing him so dominant at the Hero this week.

Scheffler very much laid down a marker and he is playing some of the best golf we’ve seen for many a year.

However, there are players out there who could threaten. Tiger Woods spoke highly of Justin Thomas, while Woods also praised Tom Kim’s off-season work.

Furthermore, the likes of McIlroy and Schauffele remain brilliant, while we could see breakout years for the likes of Ludvig Aberg.

Scheffler, then, despite his brilliance, still has a lot of work to do.
