As the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am gets underway, it’s only right to take a look back at some of Tiger Woods’ best and worst rounds at the famed California venue.
For any amateur golfer, Pebble Beach is a bucket list course. Getting a tee time at the venue and subsequently playing on the Monterey Peninsula is the stuff of dreams. Spyglass Hill and Cypress Point are also in close proximity to the iconic US Open host.
Pebble Beach was arguably the scene of Woods’ most impressive major championship victory. During the 2000 US Open, Woods finished 12 under and 15 shots clear of second-placed. He was also the only player under par. What Tiger did on the greens that week was unlike anything seen on a golf course before.
Tiger Woods’ best round at Pebble Beach

Interestingly, Woods’ best-ever round at Pebble Beach took place three years earlier at the 1997 AT&T Pro-Am.
After carding opening rounds of 70 (level par) and 72 (two over), Woods shot 63 during his third 18. The 22-year-old also shot 64 in the final round to finish in a tie for second. Woods’ close friend Mark O’Meara won the event that year.
The 1997 edition was Woods’ first professional appearance at Pebble Beach. In 1998, he withdrew from the tournament after the second round.
Tiger Woods’ worst round at Pebble Beach
Woods’ worst round at Pebble Beach took place one year before his historic US Open triumph.
Sitting at three under after two rounds, Woods carded a six-over 78 to leave him well out of contention. After the final round was postponed until August, Woods, along with a large chunk of the field, opted to withdraw instead of returning to the Monterey Peninsula later in the year.
Woods wouldn’t have to wait long until he finally got the better of Pebble Beach, however.
Tiger Woods’ two wins at Pebble Beach
Just before Woods’ US Open victory in 2000, he would taste victory at Pebble Beach for the first time.
After carding rounds of 68-73-68-64, Woods landed his first AT&T Pro-Am title just months before the year’s second major returned to California.
Woods also placed tied for fourth in the 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach and inside the top 25 just after his remarkable Masters victory in 2019.
Despite tasting success at Pebble, St Andrews’ Old Course is still Woods’ favourite venue.
