The 45th edition of the Ryder Cup is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.
Team USA play host to Team Europe at Bethpage Black in September, as the visitors look to win the competition for the 11th time in the last 15 meetings.
All the talk right now is concerning Keegan Bradley and whether or not he will act as a playing captain for the American team.
It has been suggested that the top American Ryder Cup players want Bradley on the team, and it would be a shock now if he didn’t participate on the course in September.
Back in May Bradley said he was unsure about his Ryder Cup duties, but it’s looking ever more likely that he will now be one of the 12 to take on the Europeans at Bethpage.

It wasn’t that long ago when it was being suggested that Team Europe were actually favourites to win the Ryder Cup.
I personally didn’t subscribe to that notion, and as things stand now, the U.S. Ryder Cup team is starting to shape up nicely.
Meanwhile, the Europeans have a very big problem that really isn’t being spoken about enough.
Ludvig Aberg causing a headache for Team Europe ahead of the Ryder Cup
It seems strange to say, but Ludvig Aberg is now looking like somewhat of a weaklink for the Europeans ahead of the showdown with the Americans in September.
The Swede was a huge hit during the 2023 instalment of the Ryder Cup in Italy, taking two points from the four matches that he played.
Aberg is still one of the brightest young stars on the PGA Tour, but his poor recent form is hard to ignore.
The 25-year-old has recorded just one top-10 on tour since his win at the Genesis Invitational way back in February.
During that time, he has also missed four cuts, and hasn’t been in contention to win anywhere.
Aberg is obviously a very special golfer, but did all of his success come too soon? Did the game in general come too easy to the man from Sweden?

He’s certainly struggling now, and the worrying thing is that he has never gone through these kind of problems before during his career on the PGA Tour.
Will he be able to handle the issues he’s facing and bounce back in time for the Ryder Cup? That remains to be seen, but it’s hard to argue that Aberg’s form won’t be a concern for European captain Luke Donald right now.
Aberg’s 2025 PGA Tour stats and results
Despite such a fine start to the season, Aberg has seriously gone off the boil over the past few months.
Here is how his stats look so far this season:
| Stat | Rank |
| Strokes gained off the tee | 12th |
| Strokes gained approach | 76th |
| Strokes gained scrambling | 123rd |
| Strokes gained putting | 123rd |
| Strokes gained total | 78th |
And here are his results in 2025:
| Categories | Results |
| Events played | 15 |
| Wins | 1 |
| Top-5s | 2 |
| Top-10s | 3 |
| Top-25s | 6 |
| Missed cuts | 4 |
| Withdrawals | 1 |
Aberg needs to address his poor form quickly. It will be very interesting to see how he performs over the next couple of months leading up to the showdown with the United States at Bethpage.
The European Ryder Cup team will be much stronger with an Aberg who is firing on all cylinders, that’s for sure.
