The Houston Open takes place at Memorial Park Golf Course, and you can take on the same challenge for an affordable price.

The venues on the PGA Tour calendar are all world-class facilities and that’s usually reflected in the cost to play there.

The Houston Open course bucks the trend, however, as ordinary people can walk the fairways that Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are this week without emptying their pockets.

The Golfing Gazette shares all the important information about Memorial Park, including green fees and membership details.

Courses at Memorial Park

There is only one 18-hole golf course at Memorial Park. It’s a par 70 and 7,475 yards long for the professionals at the Houston Open.

Having first opened in 1936, it was redesigned by top architect Tom Doak in preparation for the PGA Tour’s return to the course in 2020.

Meanwhile, Sharpstown Park Golf Course does not share the same location but also comes under the Houston Muni Golf umbrella.

Membership at Memorial Park

Because Memorial Park is a public course rather than a private club, it doesn’t offer any membership options.

Instead, the course offers a Resident Pass to locals who wish to play the course regularly, which significantly reduces the green fees.

For the majority of players, this will work out well. The only downside is that it would become expensive for those wanting to play multiple times per week.
