There are some outstanding young golfers in the world at the moment ready to take their place at the top of the sport and two players who could be the best out there are Ludvig Aberg and Joaquin Niemann.
Aberg, 25, and Niemann, 26, are two of the big stars on both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf side of things who are continually making waves in the game.
Aberg got his second win of his career at the Genesis just this week. Niemann, of course, took the glory at the popular LIV Adelaide event as he once again showed his class on LIV.
But just how good are these two players? Well, the Golfing Gazette have taken a look into the stats to see just how brilliant they are.

Joaquin Niemann and Ludvig Aberg compared
It’s difficult to compare them completely but it’s worth noting that Joaquin Niemann was a seasoned PGA Tour player before he jumped over to LIV.
Indeed, Niemann played in 124 PGA Tour events before his switch, while Aberg is only at 40. With those figures, we can make some comparisons on the PGA Tour side of things.
Both players have two wins to their names, and remarkably, both have won The Genesis.
Likewise, both players have runner-up spots to their name, with Niemann on three and Ludvig Aberg on four already.
In fact, across the board, both Niemann and Aberg post very similar numbers in some of the more basic statistical categories.
| PGA Tour stats | Joaquin Niemann | Ludvig Aberg |
| Events played | 124 | 40 |
| Wins (runner up) | 2 (3) | 2 (4) |
| Top ten finishes | 22 | 14 |
| Money earned (USD) | 15,225,082 | 17,756,652 |
| Cuts made (%) | 77 | 87 |
Joaquin Niemann and Ludvig Aberg strokes gained stats
One of the best ways to look at a golfer on the PGA Tour is to look at their strokes gained against the field stats.
With these two players, we have to look back to 2022 for a full season for Niemann, while Aberg can count the 2024 season as his first full year on TOUR.
Both players, in fairness, performed more than admirably.
| Strokes gained stats | Joaquin Niemann | Ludvig Aberg |
| Approach the green | 0.527 (19th) | 0.434 (21st) |
| Off the tee | 0.545 (14th) | 0.502 (14th) |
| Around the green | 0.230 (35th) | -.008 (105th) |
| Putting | -0.61 (121st) | 0.135 (67th) |
| Total | 1.274 (14th) | 1.064 (7th) |
Obviously Niemann has gone on to win three more times on the LIV Golf circuit, cementing his place as one of the best in the world.
Clearly, from a statistical point of view, Aberg and Niemann are already right up there, with room for improvement as well to dominate further.
