Brooks Koepka has certainly had one of the more unique careers to date.
There is no question that Brooks Koepka goes against the stereotype when it comes to what it takes to become a successful professional golfer.
What would the impact of Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf be?
The American made his way to the highest level via the Challenge Tour and European Tour. Meanwhile, the number of regular PGA Tour events he has won has been outnumbered by his five major victories.
And in 2025, Koepka became the first player to hint at any criticism of LIV Golf. The 35-year-old argued that the league was not as far along as it should be.
What Brooks Koepka said in 2024 about reaching 10 major victories
Koepka has established himself as the man for the big occasion in this generation. He has won the same number of majors as Rory McIlroy, Byron Nelson, and Seve Ballesteros.
He had gone four years without a major before winning the 2023 PGA Championship. And while his form since Oak Hill has been nothing to write home about, Koepka told Golf Digest in 2024 that he is optimistic about becoming the fourth man to reach double figures for major victories.

“In terms of long-term goals, I want to get to double digits in major titles. I think that 10 titles is very attainable. That goal is something that I have had to change, which I guess is the key to success. You always have to keep moving the goalposts to stay motivated and hungry for more. You have to set goals that you can attain but also some goals that are far away, so you have something that you are working towards every day,” he said.
“To be at world number one for 47 weeks was special. I cannot even remember how many weeks Tiger Woods has been ranked world number one which is an insane amount but just to be the best at your profession is a very weird feeling. When I was chasing it, I did not know what to think but when I finally got there, it was like “I’ve made it” and that was the coolest feeling in the world. It was a very important milestone for me in my career and I was very happy to get there.”
Why Brooks Koepka’s terrible 2025 season tells us nothing about what his future holds
It would be easy to look at Koepka’s record in the majors since the 2023 PGA Championship and write him off.
He has not finished inside the top 10 since that week. Meanwhile, he missed three of the four cuts in 2025. So he looks to be a long way off being able to challenge the likes of Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler right now.
How many majors do you think Brooks Koepka will end his career with?
He's currently level with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Seve Ballesteros and Byron Nelson with five
But Koepka knows better than most how quickly things can turn around. His best finish in the majors during the 2022 season was 55th. He missed the cut at both The Masters and The Open Championship.
And yet, he began 2023 by finishing second at The Masters before winning at Oak Hill.
There is plenty of speculation surrounding Koepka currently, with reports recently claiming that he could end up not playing on LIV in 2026.
It was a further reminder that trying to begin to predict what the future holds for Koepka is largely futile.
