The 2025 Ryder Cup is rapidly approaching, with plenty of pressure on Team USA captain Keegan Bradley to clinch a home win.
Golf fans have praised Team Europe for their decision to appoint Jose Maria Olazabal as a vice-captain for Bethpage Black.
The iconic course welcomes Team USA and Team Europe in September, with the visitors the current Ryder Cup champions.
Luke Donald, who has retained his captaincy role for 2025, guided the hosts to a superb victory in Rome in 2023.
His opposite number Bradley likes America’s Ryder Cup chances, having replaced Zach Johnson in the USA hot-seat.

America and Keegan Bradley have Ryder Cup worry as countdown continues
Importantly for the hosts, however, it is European players who have dominated the PGA Tour so far in 2025.
And that should be a worry for Bradley, who recently witnessed European star Rory McIlroy triumph at The Masters.
The Northern Irishman, who is certain to be a key player for Donald, already has three PGA Tour wins this season.
Fellow Europeans Ludvig Aberg, Viktor Hovland, Sepp Straka and Thomas Detry are also 2025 champions.
Justin Rose meanwhile lost in a playoff to McIlroy at The Masters, with such European success coupling with American fan fear to give Bradley plenty to ponder as the countdown continues.
American golf fans are all saying the same thing about their 2025 Ryder Cup chances
With just over 150 days to go, the latest American Ryder Cup rankings have emerged, and home fans are not very satisfied.
One wrote on X: “It might be over at the end of Saturday. The Europeans are too loaded,” with a second saying: “Yikes.”
A third concerned fan commented: “We are gonna get smoked,” with a fourth saying: “That is a guaranteed L.”
There is, of course, still a very long way to go until Bethpage Black, but fans should already be comforted by the presence of star names Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.
It’s also worth noting that both players have had their seasons disrupted by injury, while a resurgent Justin Thomas also looks to be finding form at the right time.
| Rank | Player | Points |
| 1 | Scottie Scheffler | 14,578.75 |
| 2 | Xander Schauffele | 11,133.11 |
| 3 | Collin Morikawa | 8,585.60 |
| 4 | Bryson DeChambeau | 8,190.00 |
| 5 | Russell Henley | 7,824.20 |
| 6 | Justin Thomas | 7,582.83 |
| 7 | Maverick McNealy | 5,745.21 |
| 8 | Brian Harman | 5,714.29 |
| 9 | Andrew Novak | 5,587.60 |
| 10 | J.J. Spaun | 4,778.49 |
| 11 | Patrick Cantlay | 4,329.17 |
| 12 | Harris English | 3,714.30 |
And while he faded away at The Masters, LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau should provide both skill and entertainment at Bethpage.
Moreover, he joined Scheffler and Schauffele in helping Americans clinch all four major championships just last year.
