Bryson DeChambeau remains one of LIV Golf’s biggest and best recruits, having joined the breakaway tour in 2022.

DeChambeau is a two-time major champion, and has gained a huge following on social media thanks to his innovative efforts on and off the course.

He finished third in the 2025 LIV Golf season behind Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann, while his Crushers GC side finished second in the team championship.

DeChambeau also had a season to remember in the major championships, despite missing the cut at the US Open.

Before that, he finished T5 and T2 at The Masters and the PGA Championship respectively, and concluded with a T10 finish at The Open Championship.

What Greg Norman said about Bryson DeChambeau when he first joined LIV Golf

The 32-year-old American has enjoyed a superb career so far, but it certainly hasn’t been without controversy.

And that reached a climax with his switch to LIV Golf in 2022, when he committed to playing the second event of the inaugural season.

Among those praising the move at the time was then CEO Greg Norman, who said: “Bryson DeChambeau is an exciting addition to LIV Golf’s supercharged style of play.

“He is passionate about the sport, innovative in his approach and committed to pushing the boundaries in pursuit of excellence.

“He’s not afraid to think outside the box and supports our mission of doing things differently to grow our game.

“The power and energy he brings to the course will deliver added electricity to our competition in Portland and beyond.”

DeChambeau finished 10th at the LIV Golf Invitational Series tournament at Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, Oregon.

What is the current status of Bryson DeChambeau and Greg Norman on LIV Golf?

DeChambeau remains a key figure on the Saudi-backed tour, although Norman has stepped down as LIV Golf CEO.

Norman received little sympathy after sharing his experiences in the role, which is now occupied by Scott O’Neil.

O’Neil will likely have new recruits on his mind for the 2026 season, but it remains to be seen which PGA Tour players, if any, make the switch.

There is seemingly no major worry about one of their leading men, with DeChambeau expected to re-sign with LIV Golf.

Such an extension would be as good as a new signing for O’Neil and LIV Golf, which returns at Riyadh at the start of February.
