Scottie Scheffler is one of the PGA Tour’s two biggest stars, alongside Rory McIlroy of course.

Scheffler has won an incredible 19 PGA Tour events since February 2022 – just four months before LIV Golf was formed.

Since then, LIV have managed to attract some huge names from the PGA Tour, including the likes of Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Cameron Smith and Jon Rahm.

However, Scheffler is one of the big names who have remained loyal to the PGA Tour.

It has recently been claimed that Scheffler would reject a $500 million offer from LIV, if one was indeed sent his way.

It’s easy to see why some players might be tempted into joining LIV Golf, though.

Amazingly, Rahm actually earned more money on LIV than Scheffler did on the PGA Tour in 2025 without winning a single tournament!

His importance to the PGA Tour cannot be understated. If he ever decided to jump ship to LIV, there would be catastrophic consequences for the PGA Tour.

However, could that really ever happen?

Back in 2023 ahead of the first PGA Tour event of the season, Scheffler opened up on how the formation of the LIV Golf league was still sinking in.

He said: In the world of golf, I think it’s definitely a little sad what’s happening. It’s kind of weird this week. I get to my locker, and my locker’s next to Cam Smith’s locker, because he’s a past champ here, and he’s not here. So it’s a little strange, but golf will move on. I think this stuff just takes time. Things will heal and we’ll see what happens.

The current world number one then responded when asked if would ever consider joining LIV Golf.

Scheffler said: All that stuff is not really for me. I can only show up and just try and play good golf, and I’m not going to LIV anytime soon and so it’s not of a concern for me at the moment.”

Scheffler is clearly someone who is not motivated by money whatsoever, but rather by the opportunity to create a legacy in the professional game.

He has the records of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in his sights, not dollar bills.

Despite the fact that the top earner is a LIV Golf player, six of the top 10 are PGA Tour members.

The main takeaway is that if you make it as one of the best golfers in the world, regardless of what tour you’re on, you are set for life, just like the next three or four generations of your family will be.

Scheffler is already a multi-millionaire, 100 times over, and there is absolutely no incentive for him to ever leave the PGA Tour in order to join LIV Golf.
