Scottie Scheffler has absolutely dominated professional golf over the past four years.
Scheffler has won 20 times on the PGA Tour since February 2022, including four major championships.
So with that in mind, his recent struggles on the golf course have been genuinely hard to believe.
Are you concerned about Scottie Scheffler right now?
He is really struggling with his first rounds right now…
The 29-year-old world number one has endured yet more pain at The Players Championship this week, with his rounds of 72 and 73 only good enough to make the cut by a solitary stroke.
Scheffler has really struggled with his driving at The Players while his iron play has been mediocre at best.
He clearly feels very uncomfortable on the golf course right now, and it must be such an alien feeling to him not having full control of the clubface throughout his swing.
Scheffler switched back to his old driver for The Players after enduring really struggled off the tee at Bay Hill last week.
However, nothing has changed. He has been missing his driver way right around 50% of the time at TPC Sawgrass.

And as a result, Scheffler’s frustrations have begun to boil over out on the golf course.
What Scottie Scheffler failed to do straight after day two of The Players
We have not been used to seeing Scheffler struggle for a long, long time now.
It has actually been quite jarring watching him play over the past month or so, such has been the lack of quality in his all-round game.
If his fans have found his golf to be a painful watch, can you imagine how he feels right now?
Scheffler looks completely lost on the course right now and his emotions have been spilling over as a result.
Furthermore, the fact that he didn’t speak to the media after his second round at TPC Sawgrass proves how lost he is right now.

Scheffler has hardly ever ducked out of media duties throughout his entire career, so he must have been feeling extremely low on Friday evening for him to have avoided the press.
He will, of course, have completely reset after his second round, as he always does.
Nobody can rule out Scheffler going out early on Saturday morning and shooting a round in the mid-60s.
Do you think Scottie Scheffler is ‘too boring’ or ‘overly emotional’?
Because golf fans can't have it both ways…
However, his swing is so far off right now that it would be a big surprise if he managed to do just that.
Scottie Scheffler’s stats through two rounds at The Players
Scheffler has looked like an absolute shadow of his usual self since the WM Phoenix Open last month.
It is a testament to his quality that he has still managed two top-four finishes, a T-12 and a T-24 in his last four events.
However, he has hit a new low with his poor performance at The Players this week.
Here are his stats for the first two rounds at TPC Sawgrass, and they don’t make for pretty reading…
| Stats | Scheffler’s rank |
| Strokes gained off the tee | 66 |
| Strokes gained approach | 17 |
| Strokes gained around the green | 62 |
| Strokes gained putting | 53 |
| Strokes gained total | T-51 |
With numbers like that, Scheffler actually did well to make the cut at The Players Championship this week.
He has lost strokes on the field off the tee, around the green and with the putter in his hands.
That will all have to change on Saturday and Sunday if he’s to have any chance of recording a top-25 finish at Sawgrass.
