Si Woo Kim’s impending move to LIV Golf has led to rampant speculation as to who he is bringing with him.

According to Flushing It’s original report, Si Woo Kim is expected to join LIV alongside another high-profile South Korean PGA Tour member. That was initially rumoured to be Sungjae Im, but he quickly denied this on Instagram

Further reports have stated that Si Woo Kim wants to replace Kevin Na as captain of Becko East GC, formerly Ironheads GC, and bring in two additional team members of his choosing. That’s what is holding up negotiations at this late stage.

So with that in mind, it’s becoming increasingly clear who will be joining Kim on LIV Golf ahead of the 2026 season.

Why LIV Golf will sign former US Amateur champion with Si Woo Kim

Si Woo Kim, Im, Tom Kim and Byeong Hun An are the four South Korean players who are currently in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings, and with Si Woo Kim seemingly in, and Im ruling himself out, there are only two realistic candidates remaining: Tom Kim and An.

Tom Kim would be the highest-profile signing of the two. He’s a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, most recently winning in 2023, and had a T2 finish at The Open Championship that year.

But the 23-year-old is an unlikely candidate for one key reason: his budding friendship with Scottie Scheffler. Tom Kim’s friendship with the world number one is clearly valued by him, as they play privately often. It would likely be enough to prevent him from leaving the PGA Tour.

What will be the impact of joining LIV on Si Woo Kim’s career?

So that leaves one clear option for LIV: An! An arrived on the PGA Tour as a young star with bags of potential. He became the youngest-ever winner of the US Amateur in 2009, but 17 years later, he has yet to win on the PGA Tour.

He’s had success elsewhere, winning the 2015 BMW PGA Championship, which made him the second-ever player to win the US Amateur and the British PGA Championship in their career. So perhaps the best thing for him is to leave the PGA Tour and reignite his career elsewhere.

Si Woo Kim looks to turn around worst team in LIV Golf

Adding a former US Amateur champion to his new LIV Golf team would be a statement of intent for Si Woo Kim, who is reportedly attempting to replace Na as captain for the last-place finishers in the 2025 Team Championship.

Ironheads GC endured a fall from grace in 2025, after they finished runner-up in the standings in 2024.

Apart from Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, which three players can the PGA Tour simply not afford to lose to LIV?

Kim hopes to bring two new names with him, leaving the door open for yet another PGA Tour member to jump ship and join his reinvented team.

It would need to be a bigger name than An to make a real difference, however, as he had only three top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour last season.
