PGA Tour winner confirms he will not be joining LIV Golf, ‘fake news’

LIV Golf are really putting in the effort to improve its field for the 2026 season, which is rapidly approaching.

Victor Perez has joined LIV Golf for the new campaign, with Laurie Canter doing the same despite earning a PGA Tour card.

The Frenchman will play for Cleeks GC on LIV Golf next season, while the Englishman has joined Majesticks GC.

Si Woo Kim is close to joining LIV Golf for 2026 as well, with the South Korean expected to play for Ironheads GC.

He is a four-time PGA Tour champion, and would undoubtedly represent LIV Golf’s most high-profile recruit of the offseason so far.

Sungjae Im confirms LIV Golf rumours are ‘fake news’

But one player who won’t be making the move now is his fellow South Korean Sungjae Im, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour.

Im’s caddie joked about his LIV rumours, and the player himself has now issued a clear update on his social media.

The South Korean, who finished T2 at The Masters in 2020, shared a report about the proposed move on his Instagram story with the words: “Fake news.”

Im has certainly impressed on the big stage in his career so far, having also finished T5 at The Masters this year and T8 in 2022.

The South Korean also has a T7 finish at The Open Championship on his CV from last year’s tournament at Royal Troon.

He now looks set to continue his PGA Tour journey in 2026, having posted wins at the 2020 The Honda Classic and the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open.

Im made 20 of 28 cuts this season, posting three top 10s and nine top 25s, with a T27 finish in the FedExCup standings.

Joining the PGA Tour in 2019, he has made 209 starts on the PGA Tour in total, earning $34,982,404 with his displays.
