There has been a twist after reports emerged on Wednesday claiming that Sungjae Im is set to leave the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf.
It seemed that LIV Golf were about to pull off a real coup ahead of the 2026 season.
Initially, it was reported that Si-woo Kim was in advanced talks to join LIV. The claim from Flushing It noted that the league was also speaking with another South Korean member of the PGA Tour about a deal.
What will be the impact of joining LIV on Si Woo Kim’s career?
It seemed that the player in question may be Sungjae Im.
However, it seems that those reports linking Im with LIV were wide of the mark.

According to a report from Sports Illustrated, a source close to Im claimed that there was no chance that he was about to leave the PGA Tour to join LIV.
Meanwhile, Im’s caddie and former PGA Tour player Willy Wilcox has since taken to social media to seemingly poke fun at the speculation.

Of course, the attention will swiftly turn to the second PGA Tour player in question. And clearly, there are two standout candidates.

Kim certainly appears to need a fresh start after such a disappointing year on the PGA Tour. However, the 23-year-old has won three times on the tour previously. So he will surely be focused on rediscovering what made him one of the most exciting talents playing in the States.
An is perhaps the more likely candidate. The 34-year-old’s career has had a number of twists and turns and he has not yet managed to win on the PGA Tour.
If either man ends up joining Si-woo Kim, it would undoubtedly be a real boost for LIV as they look to strengthen the amount of depth they have.
