The golfing landscape is changing once again as LIV Golf begin to make their moves during the off-season.

LIV Golf have seemingly changed their approach ahead of the 2026 season, with no more moves for superstar players, so to speak.

The PGA Tour are in a very strong position right now, and their best players seem to have no interest whatsoever in jumping ship to join the Saudi-backed outfit.

LIV CEO Scott O’Neil said that LIV are now targeting players to strengthen the back end of their fields.

What is your craziest golf prediction for the 2026 season?

Our three BOLD golf predictions for 2026!

Si Woo Kim is apparently heading to LIV before the start of the 2026 season, as the Saudi-backed golf league begins stockpiling extremely solid players to help improve the level of competition on their tour.

There could be real change this winter, with Brooks Koepka being mooted for an exit from LIV Golf, and a return to the PGA Tour apparently on the cards.

And yet more news is filtering through on Wednesday.

PGA Tour player set to follow Si Woo Kim and join LIV Golf

With Si Woo Kim being lined up to join Iron Heads on LIV Golf, there could be more new arrivals in the coming weeks.

Sungjae Im, 27, appears to be LIV-bound, according to a report from Today’s Golfer.

The world number 42 has won twice on the PGA Tour throughout his career to date.

Those victories came back in 2020 and 2021 and he has been patiently waiting for another win over the past four years.

It’s fair to say that his career has stalled somewhat, with just three top-10 finishes to his name on the PGA Tour in 2025.

One of those was a fifth-place finish at The Masters and there was a time when it seemed like he had a real outside shot to win at Augusta National.

Now it seems like he’s about to head down a new path with Iron Heads on LIV, making up an all South Korean-born team alongside Si Woo Kim, Kevin Na and Danny Lee.

While Sungjae may not be the kind of blockbuster signing that LIV Golf fans were hoping for, he will undoubtedly be an extremely solid addition to their ranks, just like his fellow countryman, Si Woo.

Sungjae Im’s PGA Tour record and what his record means for LIV Golf

The South Korean is well known for playing more tournaments than pretty much anyone else on the PGA Tour.

Here is his career record to date:

Top-10s48
Cuts made164

If Sungjae does move to LIV, he will be playing about 50 per cent of the tournaments that he played every season on the PGA Tour.

It may well be very difficult for the 27-year-old to adjust to that and it will be interesting to see whether he is able to maintain his consistency throughout the year.

The main concern for Sungjae Im will be maintaining his place inside the top-50 of the world rankings so that he remains eligible to play in all of the major championships.

However, that will only be possible if LIV are successful in their application for world ranking points.
