It is just over six weeks now until the first event of the new LIV Golf season, with the league once again kicking off its campaign in Riyadh.

Unfortunately for LIV Golf, the biggest name being linked with a move this winter is one of their own, with Brooks Koepka a doubt to play for Smash in 2026.

The signings of Victor Perez and Laurie Canter appear to be sensible. Bringing in Canter, in particular, is an impressive signing, with the Englishman turning down a PGA Tour card for next year.

The year is 2030… How do you think LIV Golf will look and who will be their biggest star?

It appears that Si-woo Kim will not be joining, despite reports stating that he was in advanced talks. But there is another PGA Tour player who has received an eye-watering offer from LIV.

And in truth, it is potentially the move that would issue the most concerning statement about the direction LIV is currently travelling in.

LIV Golf linked with signing PGA Tour player in an eight-figure deal

According to Flushing It, an eight-figure offer has been made to Max Greyserman.

It is not yet clear whether Greyserman plans to accept the bid. However, the fact that the report claims that he could replace Ben Campbell at RangeGoats surely hints that discussions have reached a fairly advanced stage.

Greyserman is a very good player. He is 32nd in the world rankings. He has finished second five times on the PGA Tour during his career.

The 30-year-old would be an upgrade on Campbell, certainly. The New Zealander had one top 10 on LIV in 2025.

But Greyserman’s best finish in a signature event this past year was tied for 22nd at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He is also yet to finish in the top 20 at a major.

It would, therefore, be an incredibly underwhelming move given the outlay.

Rory McIlroy is already well on his way to being proven right about LIV Golf’s future

Some may have rolled their eyes when Rory McIlroy claimed LIV face needing to spend $6 billion over the coming years just to stay where they are now.

McIlroy has made no secret of his disdain for LIV since its inception. So it could have easily been seen as an exaggeration from the Northern Irishman.

However, these reports on Greyserman surely begin to back up McIlroy’s claim.

Do you think Max Greyserman would be a good signing for LIV Golf?

Would LIV be right to part with an eight-figure sum to sign Max Greyserman?

Greyserman has made nearly $8.1 million across 55 events on the PGA Tour during his career. Meanwhile, LIV are prepared to pay at least $10 million to bring him in.

They cannot exactly argue that he would have been top of their list either. Unless Greyserman has been turning them down for some time, you have to wonder why they did not make an approach last year when it was clear they wanted younger players.

Based on his career so far, Greyserman is not going to be able to move the needle at all by joining LIV.

With that, you have to question why LIV or the RangeGoats are not holding onto the eight-figure sum and just accepting that they are better off sticking with what they have if they are not going to be able to sign their dream targets every single year.

Obviously, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia is not going to be struggling for cash anytime soon. And perhaps Greyserman will go on and become one of the best players in the world should he move.

But this definitely does appear to be another step in the wrong direction at a time when little seems to be going right for LIV.
