Jordan Spieth has really struggled for both form and confidence over the past few years on the PGA Tour.
And ahead of the 2026 PGA Tour season, Jordan Spieth may well have Tiger Woods to thank for providing him with something of a lifeline.
Spieth’s last PGA Tour event was back in August, so he will be slightly ring-rusty ahead of the new season next year.
However, the three-time major champion will undoubtedly have been working incredibly hard on his game back home in Dallas.

Spieth has grand ambitions to return to the world number one spot, but even he would admit that is somewhat of a pipe dream right now.
Getting back into the winner’s circle on the PGA Tour should be his main goal.
Now Spieth has a genuine chance to build up some real momentum ahead of the PGA Tour schedule next year.
Jordan Spieth has Tiger Woods to thank ahead of the 2026 PGA Tour season
Back in October, it was announced that Tiger Woods invited Jordan Spieth into the field for the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Club.
Many suggested that Spieth’s recent form did not warrant an invite into the event.
Who will win the Hero World Challenge?
However, the fact of the matter is that the 32-year-old is one of the biggest so-called ‘needle-movers’ in the game.
The mere fact that he is in the field at Albany means there will unequivocally be more eyeballs on the event.
Spieth has always been a hugely popular figure amongst the fans, regardless of whether he’s actually playing well or not.
And now the Dallas native has a golden opportunity to make a big statement ahead of the new PGA Tour season in 2026.
The stars could well be aligning for the three-time major champion.
Although his 2014 win at the Hero World Challenge came at a different golf course (Isleworth in Orlando, Florida), he does have a very strong record at Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas.

Spieth has recorded four top-10 finishes in total throughout his Hero World Challenge career at Albany.
Perhaps this year he can go one step further and actually win the event.
Three reasons why Jordan Spieth could win the Hero World Challenge
The 13-time PGA Tour winner’s game is perfectly suited to Albany – a golf course designed by Ernie Els.
Firstly, Spieth is certainly not one of the most accurate drivers of the ball in the game, and he will have more room for error on Albany’s wide rolling fairways than he does at other PGA Tour venues.
Secondly, the areas surrounding the greens are tightly cut, meaning that Spieth will have an advantage over many of the other players in the field due to his exceptional touch and imagination with a wedge in his hands.
The 32-year-old from Dallas has always excelled when chipping and pitching from tight lies around the greens.
He displayed this specifically in four of his 13 wins – his Masters and US Open triumphs in 2015, his victory at the 2017 Open Championship and when he conquered the field at the 2021 Valero Texas Open.
Finally, it is worth noting that there are only 20 players in the field this week at Albany and just four of the current top-10 ranked golfers in the world.
Jordan Spieth will not have a better chance to inject some real confidence into his veins ahead of the PGA Tour season than he does this week at the Hero World Challenge.
And if the American does end up performing well at Albany before going on to achieve success in 2026, he will have Tiger Woods to thank for giving him a lifeline in the first place.
