Golf YouTuber Peter Finch has shared what he thought about a LIV Golf event for the very first time on Saturday as Dustin Johnson went on to win in Las Vegas.
Whether you like it or not, it has definitely been an impressive start to the season for the Saudi-backed tour.
Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII won the team event in Mayakoba, with Rahm himself just missing out on the individual play-off involving eventual winner Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia.
Peter Finch praises strength of LIV leaderboard in Las Vegas

Heading into the final round of the event, the likes of Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau found themselves in contention.
The pair ultimately fell away, with DeChambeau carding a four-over 74. But speaking on the Rough Cut Golf Podcast, Peter Finch suggested that you could not help but be drawn in by the prospect of Rahm, DeChambeau and Johnson battling it out on the final day – though he did admit that he did not actually watch any of it.
“I think we should speak about LIV every now and again,” he said.
“Mostly because, when you looked at the final day leaderboards, the actual LIV field looks strong. It looked really strong. It’s probably the first time I’ve actually looked at that and thought, you know what, if I was going to watch purely based on players…”
Breakaway tour certainly won the weekend
It is difficult to not be enticed by the prospect of watching some of these players battle it out. Ultimately, Rahm’s move to the tour was a massive statement and probably is tempting those of us who stayed away previously to start taking a bit of an interest.
There is still so much about LIV to dislike, on and off the course. What threatened to be an exciting end to the team competition on Saturday ended up being something of a damp squib with Smash winning by some distance.
But when you write down the respective fields at LIV Las Vegas, the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Qatar Masters on the DP World Tour, you have to say that LIV probably had the most to offer.
