Xander Schauffele couldn’t defend his Olympic title in Paris this weekend but he’s still found time to show some class to the winners.

Schauffele couldn’t find form in his final round as he shot two-over to drop down the leader board.

In the end, good friend Scottie Scheffler won the gold, while Tommy Fleetwood took silver for Team GB and Hideki Matsuyama took the bronze for Japan.

Nevertheless, Schauffele has had a tremendous 2024.

The American has won two majors and got himself to number two in the world as he continues to improve year by year.

Of course, the Olympics is an individual sport when it comes to golf but overall, there is a wider team involved.

And taking to Instagram, Schauffele has shown his class and his way of being a team player by sending a heartfelt message to Scheffler.

Xander Schauffele shows his class with message to Scottie Scheffler

Taking to social media to post his thoughts on the week in general and Scheffler’s win, Schauffele gave the world number one his flowers.

Schauffele and Scheffler can lead Team USA for years

It’s quite something for Team USA to have players like Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler as part of the make up right now.

Both golfers are still young as well and they could have huge futures ahead of them, both in terms of Olympic selection and Ryder Cups.

The Ryder Cup is an interesting one. With Bethpage just a year or so away, the US team will feel like having the top two players in the world gives them a huge chance.

The reality is that the US now have a pairing who, on paper, if they’re put together by captain Keegan Bradley, will dominate.

Indeed, some the next Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028, it will be no surprise to see both Schauffele and Scheffler in contention again.
