The PGA Tour Creator Classic took centre stage on Wednesday as YouTube’s finest faced East Lake’s revamped back nine.
The nine-hole event saw Luke Kwon claim the inaugural title after beating Roger Steele, Sean Walsh and Wesley Bryan in a one-hole playoff.
Bryan, who was angered by the PGA Tour’s media post before the event, finished two under through eight holes before the playoff on the 18th.
And, after four players finished under par, it’s fair to say the content creators proved some PGA Tour pros completely wrong.

Xander Schauffele shares his honest view on YouTube golf during his pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday. The two-time major winner was also asked how difficult East Lake’s back nine would be during the Creator Classic.
“Depending on sort of how high they hit the ball, and if they’re coming from the fairway or not is going to really determine their success,” Schauffele said. “They’re going to have their hands full, no doubt.”
Ludvig Aberg also claimed breaking 90 in 18 holes would be an excellent accomplishment. “From what I heard, it would be unbelievable if they shot in the 90s, I think,” said the Swede. Korean star Byeong Hun An added: “There’s no chance they’ll break even.”
However, after four players broke par and three finished level – including Peter Finch – the YouTube stars stood up to the test.
Who is Luke Kwon? the winner of the 2024 Creator Classic
As previously mentioned, Kwon was the man to claim the title on East Lake’s famous 18th green, but who exactly is the former pro turned YouTube sensation?
Before the Creator Classic, Kwon would’ve fancied his chances of competing. The South Korean previously played on the PGA Tour China and has made over $700,000 during his playing career.
Kwon’s only tour win came at the Qinhuangdao Championship, where he closed out the tournament with back-to-back birdies.
The South Korean hasn’t featured professionally since 2022, with his YouTube commitments now taking centre stage. Currently, Kwon’s YouTube channel has 288,000 subscribers, a number that will undoubtedly increase after his win at East Lake.
