For pretty much any golfer, getting to tee it up alongside Tiger Woods is the stuff of dreams. Even more so now, with the 15-time major winner rarely competing in PGA Tour events.
Amateur star Neal Shipley played alongside Woods at the 2024 Masters, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the Ohio State golfer.
Given the sporadic nature of Woods‘ schedule in recent years, several relatively big-name professionals have actually never played alongside the 15-time major winner.
Among those is Wyndham Clark, who rose to fame back in 2023 when he won the US Open at LACC. Clark, now ranked seventh in the world, discussed how he’s never played with Woods during a recent YouTube appearance.
Wyndham Clark’s message for Tiger Woods

Woods could have faced off against Clark in the TGL on Wednesday evening. Instead, Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner took to the SoFi Centre with Woods absent.
“I have never played a competitive round with Tiger Woods. So we were playing Jupiter Links, and I’m all excited,” Clark told the Rick Eisen Show.
“I get my chance to finally play a competitive round with Tiger Woods and he bailed on us. I am heartbroken; I hope he hears this!”

When could Tiger Woods return to the PGA Tour?
After Woods withdrew from the Genesis Invitational, speculation emerged about when the former world number one could return to the course.
The 15-time major winner wants to compete more often this season after being impacted by yet another back issue during the 2024 campaign. Woods played just four times (the majors) and withdrew from the Genesis at Riviera Country Club.

Looking at the PGA Tour schedule, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship feel like the most likely return dates for Woods. The 49-year-old has had plenty of success around Bay Hill, and last won the event in 2013.
Wyndham Clark’s thoughts on the TGL
In addition to sending a message to Woods, Clark also delivered his thoughts on the TGL and how he’s adjusted to the league. The Bay Golf Club are currently leading the standings.
“It took a little bit of time. The ball doesn’t quite curve as much as real golf; I don’t know if that is because there isn’t any wind in there or because it just doesn’t curve as much,” Clark added.
“And then the green and some of the chipping stuff takes a little while, but I think for everyone, it was a couple of hours or one simulation match, and then you kind of got used to it. Now we are all dialled in and guys are making putts and making birdies and eagles.
“I feel like the last three or four matches have been really close and exciting and it’s amazing the quality of golf that guys are playing. We are all shooting six, seven, eight under in these rounds. So, hopefully, it has been fun for people to watch. I will say for us we are having so much fun. It’s so fun to play really quickly, play with your friends, talk a little trash and play the sport we love.”
