Daniel Brown is a male professional golfer who is in contention to win The Open 2024 on his major championship debut.

Most golf fans had not heard of Brown before play started on Thursday but he is having a tournament to remember at Royal Troon.

The Englishman was the overnight leader after day one of The Open, having shot a mightily impressive six-under 65.

He was seven shots worse off on Friday but still found himself in second place behind Shane Lowry heading into the weekend.

A 73 on Saturday was enough to keep him in joint second place, one behind Billy Horschel, and firmly in contention to lift the Claret Jug. What a story it would be if he won!

The Golfing Gazette tells you everything you need to know about Brown, including his world ranking, career earnings and caddie.
