Vijay Singh is expected to make his PGA Tour return at the Sony Open in Hawaii next week.

Singh has not played regularly on the Tour since the 2020 season, when he made eight appearances.

Instead, the 62-year-old has mostly competed on the PGA Tour Champions over the past decade.

However, he has decided to use a career money-list exemption to get full PGA Tour status in 2025.

The Golfing Gazette looks at how Singh performed in his last Tour start two years ago.

Vijay Singh’s last PGA Tour appearance

Vijay Singh’s last appearance in a PGA Tour event was at the 2024 Masters, where he has a lifetime exemption for winning in 2000.

Singh actually made the cut at Augusta National with scores of 75 (+3) and 73 (+1) in the first two rounds, respectively.

Unfortunately, the Fijian golfer had a nightmare in the third round, shooting a 10-over-par 82.

However, he bounced back with an even-par 72 on Sunday to ensure that he did not come last among all players who played the weekend.

Although it was two years ago, this performance suggests that Singh may not embarrass himself at the Sony Open.

Having said that, we can rule out the possibility of him winning a 35th PGA Tour event.

Vijay Singh beat many big names at the Masters 2024

Vijay Singh beat many top players in his last PGA Tour start at The Masters two years ago.

He finished two strokes ahead of Tiger Woods, the only player below him on the leaderboard of those who played all four rounds.

Meanwhile, several PGA Tour stars were not able to join Singh and Woods in making the cut at Augusta.

Justin Rose, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Viktor Hovland all exited the tournament after just two rounds.
