Charlie Woods outshone his own father at the PNC Championship this weekend by recording a stunning hole in one in front of the world.
Charlie and Tiger’s combination around the course has become a staple of the season since 2020 but nobody could have imagined the duo would play as well as they have done, and nobody envisaged Woods junior getting an ace.
However, that’s exactly what happened as with his father taking a moment away from the course, Charlie hit a perfect 7-iron into the par three fourth hole.
Charlie didn’t quite realise the ball had dropped in until the crowd went nuts, and clearly reacting to the noise, Tiger came out of nowhere to celebrate with his son.
But in typical Tiger fashion, he had some words for his boy just after.

Tiger Woods tells Charlie Woods to get the beers in after his hole-in-one
As reported by golf writer Matt Vincenzi, Woods had a little joke for Charlie as they walked down the fairway to retrieve his ball.
Of course, at 15, Charlie won’t be doing anything of the sort but it’s also probably pretty fair to say he’s not ‘broke’ either, given who his dad is.
Charlie Woods does something Tiger never has with hole-in-one at the PNC
Unbelievably, despite being just 15, Charlie Woods has now done something his legendary Dad never has.
According to Bob Harig, Tiger’s last ace came back in 1998 and crucially, there is no televised footage of the hole-out for Woods.
It means that Charlie is the first in his family to have a hole-in-one on live television.
So while Charlie might not have beaten Tiger over 18 holes just yet, he’ll always have this one to cling onto when it comes to the banter stakes with his father.
