Scottie Scheffler proved his class once again on the final day of the PGA Championship, as he secured his third major championship.

However, the final round at Quail Hollow certainly didn’t run smoothly for Scheffler.

The 28-year-old made tough work of the front-nine, and when he was standing on the 10th tee, he was actually tied with Jon Rahm.

But on the back-nine, Scheffler turned things around and stormed away to win the PGA Championship by five shots in the end.

Dame Laura Davies said before the final round began that the one man who could stop Scheffler from winning the PGA Championship was Scheffler himself.

The Dame was proven to be correct. Nobody got close to the 28-year-old in the end.

Now Scheffler is a three-time major champion, and who would bet against him making it four next month at the US Open?

Scheffler’s incredibly calm demeanour is a by-product of the upbringing he received from his loving and well-grounded parents.

The 28-year-old’s father has been instrumental in supporting him throughout his career to date.

And the father and son duo shared a wonderful moment next to the 18th green after Scheffler won the PGA Championship.

Scheffler’s dad – Scott – said, Words can’t describe what we just watched. You are the toughest guy, and the sweetest boy. I’m so proud of you. Thank you for never giving up, Scottie.

How sweet were those words from his father? It was absolutely incredible to watch, and if anything sums up Scheffler perfectly, it was those comments from his dad.

The great thing about Scheffler is that he will forget about his PGA Championship win on Monday, and move on to the next tournament.

But how many majors can he actually win?

Does Scottie Scheffler have Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus in his sights?

Scheffler is 28, and he probably has at least 12 years in his prime lying ahead of him.

If he averages one major per year during that period, he will be on 15 majors by the time he is 40.

Obviously that would be a remarkable win rate, but if anyone can do it, he can.

Let’s be honest here, Scheffler won the PGA Championship with his ‘B’ game.

And that should be a scary prospect for his rivals. It would surprise nobody if he ends 2025 with at least four major championships to his name.
