Rickie Fowler finished in dead last at The Memorial Tournament this week, after a truly torrid time out on the golf course.

Muirfield Village takes no prisoners, and Fowler found that out the hard way at The Memorial this week.

Fowler has taken some huge strides with his game this season on the PGA Tour, but his performance in Dublin, Ohio, this week brought him back down to earth with a bang.

How will the golf ball rollback affect the PGA Tour?

The 37-year-old followed up his opening-round 79 with a second-round 82 at Muirfield Village on Friday.

On day two, the six-time PGA Tour winner carded nine pars, eight bogeys, and a double bogey.

He has struggled desperately with all departments of his game this week, and has lost strokes on the field off the tee, with his approach shots, around the green, and with his putter.

Rickie Fowler is one of the PGA Tour’s good guys

Fowler seemed to be completely lost out on the golf course on Friday.

He was battling his swing all day and never had any kind of feel with the putter in his hands.

The American cut a dejected figure as he walked off the 18th green at Muirfield Village after his second round.

However, Fowler deserves huge credit for what he did next.

After signing his card, the 37-year-old took the time to meet and greet his loyal army of young fans who were waiting for him around the clubhouse.

Not many players on the PGA Tour would have done that after shooting an 82.

Fowler really is one of the good guys, and that should count for a lot.

Rickie Fowler’s stats on day two at The Memorial

Fowler lost a remarkable 7.875 strokes on the field in total on Friday at Muirfield Village and was ranked 72nd out of 72 players in that category.

What did you make of Scottie’s behavior towards Ted Scott?

Scottie blew a fuse on day one of The Memorial…

He was ranked 66th in strokes gained off the tee, having lost 1.702 strokes on the field.

Fowler ranked 66th in strokes gained around the green as well and 41st in strokes gained putting, having lost 1.796 and 0.298 strokes on the field respectively in those two categories.

However, the worst part of his game was his iron play, as he lost 4.079 strokes on the field with his approaches.

Rickie Fowler will hopefully just chalk this week off as a complete anomaly and bounce back as soon as possible.
