LIV Golf continues to have a huge impact on the world of golf and they aren’t going away anytime soon as talks of potential deals with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour continue to gather pace.

So far, there has been nothing done with the PGA Tour and that remains one of the biggest talking points in the whole of golf.

However, when it comes to LIV’s involvement and potential for doing business with the DP World Tour, it seems things might be a step closer.

Bloomberg reported last week that a deal was close to being done between the DP World Tour and LIV Golf which would see significant investment into the old European Tour.

And in what looks like a more than coincidental step, it appears things are shaping up for 2025 for the two tours to co-exist.

LIV Golf and DP World Tour schedules point to a deal being done

It only seems two minutes since the 2024 season ended but the powers that be already have plans in place for 2025, which will soon be upon us.

Indeed, as reported by Fried Egg Golf, it seems that the LIV chiefs and DP World Tour chiefs may have already got their heads together.

It’s explained that the LIV Golf and DP World Tour schedules are very much plotted out right now so that players could play on both tours if they wanted.

For example, only one of the opening five LIV events clashes with a DP event, whereas in 2024, four of the first five were on the same weeks as those DP events.

Furthermore, it’s suggested that an as yet untitled DP event in the Middle East could end up being the LIV Golf event in Riyad, Saudi Arabia.

The dates marry up, with LIV advertising the Riyad event and the DP Tour, so far anyway, showing it simply as ‘Middle East Event’.

On the surface, then, it looks like we might well be getting a deal at some point in what would be a major step towards re-harmonising the sport.
