Bryson DeChambeau has produced another stunning round of the golf at the US Open but might end up being curtailed by injury.

The American, at the time of writing, was flying at seven under par overall after what was another day of chaotic golf at Pinehurst No.2.

DeChambeau has managed to keep himself firmly in contention ahead of Sunday’s final round and even if he makes a mess of the last few holes, he’s going to be in the mix.

However, there’s always a side story with DeChambeau it seems and the side story today comes in the form of a potential injury.

The LIV star was seen getting some treatment in the trees at one point, causing concern among the fans and commentators.

And according to one of those golf commentators, Todd Lewis, Bryson is indeed nursing an injury.

Golf Channel reporter shares what injury Bryson DeChambeau is dealing with at the US Open

After seeing Bryson hobbling a touch and getting that treatment, some golf fans were holding their breath.

And revealing the news via his X account, Golf Channel analyst Todd Lewis has shared what Bryson’s team have told him out on course.

“Just spoke with @b_dechambeau team that’s walking with him during the 3rd round of the @usopengolf. Was told he woke up with discomfort in his right hip this morning. Has been treated on the course. Was told by rules official Bryson is allowed two five minute treatment sessions,” Lewis wrote.

Injury could be a nightmare for DeChambeau

It was interesting in that DeChambeau did play a very wayward iron shot off the tee not long after getting that first treatment.

Quite how the injury is going to affect him for round four, remains to be seen.

But just like any injury to any top sportsman or woman, things will tighten and stiffen up overnight and he’s going to need all his medical team and physios around him to make things right.

Given how DeChambeau drives the ball and the power he exerts through the hip turn, this could end up being a game-changer.
