Tiger Woods has crashed out of the US Open and has just one event left on the calendar this year.
2024 has not gone to plan for Tiger and he has struggled with both his game and his body as he’s tried to compete in the majors.
Annoyingly for Woods, this week at Pinehurst has seen him play some of his best golf for some time and yet he’s still failed to make the cut.
A few missed putts and some poor approach shots meant it wasn’t to be for the 15-time major winner, who admitted in his post-round press conference that a lip out on the 15th hole had really cost him.
However, it was another comment in that post-round presser which really caught the attention.

When asked if it felt like it was his last ever US Open, Woods responded by saying ‘it may or may not be’ and he’ll have to see what next year brings.
Naturally, that comment has sent the golfing world into a bit of a frenzy.
Golf fans react after Tiger Woods suggests he might have played his last US Open
Over on social media, Woods’ comments on potentially walking away gathered the usual sort of reaction from golf fans.
And among the masses, it seemed fans were split on whether or not Woods needs to walk away, or simply be granted lifetime access to playing the tournaments he wants.
One fan has called for Tiger to ‘get real’.
While @golfstee suggested Tiger bows out with class.
“Just bow out gracefully dude, then start to heal your body and mind for the seniors come back.“
However, @JRmatthew419 offered a different slant, claiming Tiger’s ego was getting in his way.
“I love Tiger but today as I listen his ego is off the charts he believes he can win by playing 4 times a year talking in riddles the only way u get better at golf is playing it I don’t c a confident Tiger my wager is still mc or a wd.”
@bulktuesday also agreed with the opinion of Tiger bowing out gracefully.
While another user, @davidwilso68155 seemed sad that Woods had cause himself injuries in the first place.
“Why’d he have to drive that damn car on all those painkillers…..he’d still be playing and winning”
It very much seems, then, that the world of golf can’t make their mind up when it comes to Woods.
