Texas Open expert picks
The Golfing Gazette experts have made their picks for this week’s Texas Open.
Peter Lynch: Sepp Straka has been looking relatively strong so far this season, and I think he has what it takes to find the right level just before The Masters by getting over the line this week.
James Shearman: Robert MacIntyre finished fourth at the Players Championship three weeks ago, so he’s in fine form ahead of The Masters. He also ranks 20th on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained. It remains surprising that MacIntyre has never won in the USA, but that could soon change.
Charlie Walker: Coming off a top-10 at The Players, Sepp Straka’s precision play makes him perfectly suited to TPC San Antonio this week. He ranks 7th from tee-to-green and 6th on approach on the PGA Tour this season, and I expect his consistent ball striking to lead him to victory.
Antony Martin: Russell Henley for me. One of the most accurate drivers on Tour, and that will serve him well this week in San Antonio.
