Tyrrell Hatton played very well in his opening round at LIV Nashville and the Englishman has been giving his verdict on the raucous US crowd.
Hatton carded a fine six under par to sit one off leader Abraham Ancer over in Nashville.
Unfortunately for Hatton, the rest of his Legion XIII struggled and in the team event, they sit fourth, despite Hatton being in individual second.
Of course, the standard of golf is high in Nashville but there’s another obvious selling point for the event with the crowd.

Nashville is known for having passionate sports fans and the course has even introduced a ‘party hole’ for the LIV event.
Naturally, then, Hatton – who is known for being quite reserved off the course – was asked about the support in his presser.

Tyrrell Hatton gives verdict on LIV Nashville crowd after day one
Speaking in his press conference after his opening round in Nashville, Hatton was asked how he feels about the energetic crowd out on the course.
And while Hatton appreciated the love, he admitted it’s still not quite as good as the crowd in LIV Adelaide a few weeks back.
“I mean it was really good. I don’t think you’re quite going to top what we had in Adelaide. I think the numbers that we had down there were like three times as much,” Hatton said.
“I don’t know what the true number of fans here today but I think there’s even more tickets sold for the weekend. The atmosphere was brilliant out there and I think for the guys playing in the final groups over the weekend are going to enjoy playing in a good crowd.”
LIV is riding the wave of Bryson DeChambeau
There is no doubt that Bryson DeChambeau winning the US Open at the weekend is exactly what Greg Norman and LIV wanted and perhaps, needed.
They have made some strides this season and there does seem to be a growing interest in the LIV events.
This week, the Nashville crowd is there to see DeChambeau but the other players are also getting quite the reception and as Hatton says here, the atmosphere will only build over the weekend.
