Tyrrell Hatton was the main man this weekend as he won at LIV Nashville to mark a big return to form.

After struggling around Pinehurst and shooting a six over par through the weekend, Hatton roared back to life in Nashville to help Legion XIII to the team title, while he took home the individual honour.

Hatton, who has yet to win a major but does have six European Tour wins and a PGA Tour win to his name, was one of the big names to make the jump to LIV.

The Englishman followed Jon Rahm to the newly formed Legion XIII but this weekend represented his first win on the Saudi-backed tour.

Of course, a lot has been made of the LIV format, especially the team and shotgun start elements of it.

And commenting on those changes and more, Hatton has admitted it can be a little tricky at times to get fully up to speed.

Tyrrell Hatton says there’s something ‘awkward’ about playing on LIV Golf

Speaking about the experience of playing for LIV so far, Hatton admitted that there’s still some elements he’s getting used to.

“I think we are all still working our way through it. Just with our warm up times and when you want to be on the range, sometimes it can be a bit awkward with the space and figure out how to be ready to go,” Hatton said.

“With it being three rounds, you have to get off to a decent start, and the standard of golf out here doesn’t really allow you to be slow out of the blocks, otherwise you are always playing catch up.

“Thankfully for me it was my week where I started pretty quick and managed to keep going. I think we are all trying to figure it out still but that’s the fun part.”

Will the LIV format ever fully take off?

It’s quite interesting to hear the golfers on LIV mention things like this.

We’ve heard Lee Westwood complain about the individual element of LIV a bit and suggest that more should be made of the team aspect.

We also heard Jon Rahm have a good old rant at the drones being used in Nashville this weekend as well, albeit that is part and parcel of any tour now.

Whether or not what LIV are doing ever takes off fully in the golfing world, remains to be seen.

The shotgun starts don’t seem to go down well but as Westwood has said, the team element is the big separator and something that could be worked on.
