Tyrrell Hatton jokes that the PGA Tour needs to make a big change after his Alfred Dunhill Links Championship win

Tyrrell Hatton has emerged victorious from the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship after an entertaining battle with Nicolas Colsaerts.

Hatton was frustrated with the greens at St Andrews, as he chased his third Alfred Dunhill Links Championship title.

But Dame Laura Davies praised Hatton’s putting in Scotland, which certainly helped him go on to lift the trophy.

His victory comes after an impressive debut LIV Golf season, where Hatton won one title on his way to finishing fourth place after defecting from the PGA Tour in January.

Hatton clinched individual success at LIV Golf Nashville, and has now tasted victory back on the DP World Tour.

The success is certain to have improved his chances of a Team Europe place at the 2025 Ryder Cup, which takes place in New York next September.

He was, however, asked about his career success in October in his Alfred Dunhill Links Championship winning press conference, having won four of his seven DP World Tour titles in that month.

Sharing his thoughts on why he enjoys so much success in October, with his birthday also taking place in that month, Hatton responded: “I don’t know. I have no idea. Maybe some majors could move to October.”

Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm boost Ryder Cup chances

Hatton may just have outshone Jon Rahm this year, with the LIV Golf duo having been among the players taking on the recent DP World Tour events.

The Legion XIII teammates will both be eyeing a Ryder Cup spot, and they have massively boosted their chances thanks to their recent displays.

Hatton has just clinched a record third Alfred Dunhill Links Championship title, while Rahm lost in a play-off at last week’s Spanish Open.

Team Europe will need all the firepower they can get at Bethpage Black next year, in what is certain to a be real challenge.

Not only are they away from home, but US golf is in a superb place, with the US Team clinching another Presidents Cup title over the International Team last month.
