Tyrrell Hatton gives honest verdict on claims Jon Rahm misses playing on the PGA Tour

With LIV Golf still causing a divide in the world of golf there are some who suggest some of the top stars could actually be pining for a return to the PGA Tour.

LIV have yet to achieve some of their objectives in terms of getting that all important TV deal and there are still questions over the future of players when it comes to OWGR points.

In and among those issues, there’s also been suggestions that some of the very best in LIV are missing the PGA Tour and looking to go back.

Rahm has spoken of the tournaments he does miss, but aside from that, everything else has effectively been rumour.

And according to Tyrrell Hatton – who plays on Rahm’s Legion XII team – any notion the Spaniard wants a return is just nonsense.

Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with the Daily Mail, Hatton addressed a number of questions about LIV Golf and its major players.

And when it came to reports of Rahm wanting a return to the PGA Tour, Hatton couldn’t help but call it out.

“Forgive me saying this but that is just media bull****,’ Hatton said. “People showed me some of the stuff that was written, but from being around Jon that’s never even been a thought process that crossed my mind.

“He’s really enjoyed it and he has certainly played some pretty good golf.”

Why Jon Rahm was rumoured to be a problem for any LIV and PGA deal

Going all the way back to September 2024, there were suggestions that the amount of money LIV were giving to Rahm was causing issues.

Rahm’s apparent $300m contract was said to be one of the factors in no deal being done between the PGA and PIF, with suggestions of Rahm returning some of that money.

However, those claims were eventually shot down and Rahm went on to win the individual title on LIV and prove his class.

Rahm has been criticised by Brandel Chamblee again recently for not being the needle mover he thought he might be.

But overall, Rahm’s move to LIV has been successful and as Hatton says, there’s little reason for him to seek a return to the PGA.
