Tour Championship picks
The Golfing Gazette writers have made their predictions for the winner of the Tour Championship this week.
Jordan Harris: Viktor Hovland won the FedEx Cup in 2023, while he also shot the lowest gross score that week at East Lake. A seventh-place finish at the BMW Championship bodes well for the Ryder Cup. It also hints that it could be the Norwegian who pushes Scottie Scheffler in the coming days.
James Shearman: Rory McIlroy has been overshadowed by Scottie Scheffler this year despite winning The Masters, the Players Championship, and the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. However, if he were to win the Tour Championship, it would then start an argument over which player has had the better season. With the Ryder Cup also on his mind, I’m expecting McIlroy to show up at East Lake.
Peter Lynch: Scottie Scheffler is, of course, once again the obvious choice, but I can see an upset happening this week, with Russell Henley the man to do it.
