Tommy Fleetwood sets all-time Ryder Cup record after latest win with Rory McIlroy in foursomes

Tommy Fleetwood had already proved himself as an excellent Ryder Cup player before this week.

Fleetwood’s record in his three previous appearances was seven wins, three losses, and two ties.

After winning the Tour Championship in August, many expected the Englishman to step up his game even more.

Well, Fleetwood has certainly delivered so far at Bethpage Black, winning points in the first three sessions.

He is now the all-time leader in one Ryder Cup statistic after winning his latest foursomes match with Rory McIlroy.

Tommy Fleetwood leads all Ryder Cup players in key statistic

Fleetwood has won two foursomes matches with McIlroy and a fourball match with Justin Rose at the 2025 Ryder Cup.

After winning with Rose, golf analyst Justin Ray tweeted that Fleetwood had equalled Tom Watson for the best point-winning percentage in foursomes and fourball matches in Ryder Cup history.

Well, after he and McIlroy beat Harris English and Collin Morikawa again on Saturday, he has now taken the outright lead.

He has claimed 9.5 points from 12 matches in the foursomes and fourball formats, a remarkable achievement.

Tommy Fleetwood could better 2018 Ryder Cup performance

Fleetwood made a name for himself on his Ryder Cup debut at Le Golf National in 2018.

He played four matches with Francesco Molinari and won them all, defeating Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau, and Tiger Woods along the way.

Unfortunately, he could not add to his tally in the Sunday singles session as he lost 6&4 to Tony Finau.

Fleetwood will now have the chance to match his four-point effort from Paris, or even improve on it if he plays in all five sessions.
